Why Boxing is a Perfect Social Sport

Boxing is a great way to stay in shape, learn self defence skills and make new friends. It is an intense workout that burns plenty calories while having fun and learning a new skill.

Some people may feel uncomfortable going to the gym alone so a boxing class is a perfect solution to this as even though you attend on your own once you are there you are surrounded by like minded people and you will be paired up with someone of similar ability to practice and learn new boxing combinations.

During your boxing sessions communication with your partner is really important especially when doing pad work. The classes are also a great way to work on your communication skills and help build confidence.

Boxing is also great for motivation as your partner will be there to help encourage you and push you that little bit harder than you would do if training on your own and help with learning new combinations on the pads. The current classes are small groups of 6-8 people and are a great fun environment to come and learn something new.

As well as the social benefits boxing is also great for improving both physical and mental health. It is a great way to improve fitness, lose weight and improve sleep. Boxing is also a great way to switch off from your crazy day to day life, focussing on learning new skills can take your mind of any worries you may have at home or anything that might have been causing you to be stressed.
