At Club Gym Wellness, a sense of community is a priority. This is why it stands as one of the gym’s 5 pillars. From the moment you enter the gym you are met with an open reception area designed to promote socialisation between staff and members alike. Many gym goers can be seen talking to each other throughout the gym and giving friendly waves as they pass one another. From asking for a spot to simply saying hi, there are many ways to get involved with the community at Club Gym Wellness. 

Benefits

There are many benefits to getting involved with the gym community that can not just boost your enjoyment but also increase your results. 

Spotting – Spotting is when one person observes and assists with someone while they are completing a lift. Being able to ask the folks around you for a spot could help you train harder than you would be comfortable to do on your own as there is an added safety net and the motivation of a friendly face keeping you going. 

Encouragement – A compliment or highlight of how well you are doing from a friendly face in the gym can spike your mood and not just boost your workout but your day in general. This ties into spotting as spotters will often comment on how well you performed while lifting. 

Education – It’s hard to admit but we don’t know everything and the only way to grow your knowledge is to ask. Don’t be afraid to ask others for help and advice, if someone is lifting a weight well with great technique then maybe ask them for advice on how they do it. This can be done with both members and staff.

How to get involved 

Now that you know some of the benefits of being engaged in our community let’s look at some ways to get you involved.

The Reception Area – This area was designed with community in mind. There are many members who sit here after a workout to relax and have a chit chat, whether it’s with other members or the trainers on shift. As the trainer stands behind the bar mixing up protein shakes and chatting away it feels like a fancy cocktail bar… except way healthier!

The trainers – This brings us onto possibly the biggest part of the community, the folks that work here. It’s no secret personal trainers are motor mouths and like to talk endlessly, it’s part of the job after all. Never be afraid to come up and strike a conversation with one of us if you see us floating around. You’ll probably get free fitness advice out of it as well. Just keep in mind that we can’t do this while taking a class or doing tours / work on the computer. 

Social Media – The gym has many social media outlets that are constantly making posts. Not only can you pick up great advice and motivation from these posts, but by interacting and commenting on them you are starting conversation that other gym goers may join in on. All it takes is one comment on a post and you may make a new friend to go to the gym with or talk to in passing while training.

In conclusion, being a member of Club Gym Wellness makes you a member of a fitness community that supports people from all walks of life and promotes self improvement and self care. While a member of it you could make connections that could last a lifetime but you’ll never know until you say those important 2 words; “Hi there”.
